Mascara Review

The other day at Sephora my sister and I picked up Peter Thomas Roth's 'Lashes to Die For' Mascara, to try out. I have to say I wasn't impressed. This mascara is however better for shorter lashes than longer ones. It was very messy and didn't hold curled lashes well. It seperated pretty good just didn't do any lengthening for my lashes. I tried curling my lashes after I applied the mascara to give it back the curl and I made a mess. The mascara got all over my eyelid and was hard to rub off.

My sister however, thought differently she loved this mascara. To be honest it looked awesome on her and lengthened her lashes quiet a bit. So if you have littler lashes this mascara could do wonders for you, just be careful when applying it.

You can purchase this mascara at Ulta or Sephora for $22.00 I read some of the reviews for this mascara and all the women with short lashes adore this mascara. However the women with longer lashes didn't think it lived up to its hype. So you decide! Also, If you purchase this at Ulta you can return it after you have already used it, that is if you don't like it. ;)

Timeless Tuesday

I am sorry this took me so long to post, I have been extremely busy once again. This is great for school since it has just a hint of color. It is also a great daytime look for whatever you are doing, shopping, running around or just out with your boyfriend. The best part is that it is super fast to do, I usually do this on a lazy day when I don't feel like getting all dolled up :)

First apply primer, foundation, concealer, powder, eyelid primer and fill in your eyebrows. I am only using three eyeshadow colors for this look. Using Cover Girls Coffee Shop 260 eyeshadow quad we will start with the second shade of brown. You will apply that all over the base of your eyelid then take a blending brush and blend the color up beyond the crease of your eyelid. Fade the color up and out.

Then take the darkest color of brown and apply right above your crease. Do the same with this color fade the color up and out. Be careful how much you bring the color out, you don't want to get too close to your eyebrow.

Using the white color in the quad and apply right on your brow bone and also in the inner corner of your eye. This will help brighten your eyes and accentuate your eyebrows.

You now want to line the top of your eyes very lightly. Using Stila's Smudge Pot in black cat apple a very thin line. You want to make it very faint since you want the colorful eyeliner to stick out more. This just helps give your eyes a shape and completes the look, without it your eyes look naked.

Now take an eye pencil your choice of the color and apply on your waterline. If your pencil doesn't show much on your waterline then apply also on your lower lash line. Don't worry about getting too thick of a line, just take a q-tip dipped in eye makeup remover and clean up the line a bit. I am using Cargo's Swimmables waterproof pencil which doesn't apply as smoothly as I'd like it to but I applied just below my lower lashes and I really liked the look. MAC has really good pencils that apply nicely on your waterline they also have really vibrant colors. Don't have any colorful eyeliners? You can use eyeshadow! Choose and eyeshadow and you can do one of two things, either just apply it on your lower lash line with a flat brush dry or apply wet. This also gives you a lot more options if you don't have many eyeliners that are "stand out" colors.

For blush I just stuck with the bronzed look, I am actually using an eyeshadow for a bronzer/blush. I just applied right under my cheek bones and a light brush on my nose, chin and forehead. I am just using Ulta's brown eyeshadow. You can use either an eyeshadow, or bronzer, depending on the look you want.

Curl and apply your favorite mascara. Apply a lipgloss with a bit of a brownish sparkly tint to finish off the look :) See how easy that was? You want to try it yourself now don't ya? ;) If you have any questions or if I didn't make sense and you are confused by my horrible rambling then email me! If you have any suggestions or want to know how to do/apply something drop me an email at

Sensational Saturday

I am so sorry for not posting anything lately. I have been suppppper busy and so little time. But my life has slowed down just a little and I promise I am going to make more time for you guys :D I was at a loss of what tutorial to do, so today I sat down and just went with the flow and this is what I came up with ;) I wanted to start doing club makeup. I thought that it would be cool to switch back and forth between daytime looks and nighttime looks. So I can please everyone! Since I know not all of my readers wear JUST bright makeup. ;)

For today's look, I had no idea what I was going to do. I just put some colors on my brush and hoped for the best :p I really wanted to do something with yellow, I am loving the color yellow at the moment. And to be honest I love this look, it's not too much where you can wear it for daytime activities and the best part is it looks great with light and dark skin tones :D This look has pinks, purples, and a hint of yellow. The yellow really makes your eyes pop. Lets get beautiful...er ;P

First prime your face with Smashbox Primer.

Then you want to apply foundation. I am using Maybelline's Dream Matte Mousse. If you have ever used this foundation but thought it didn't blend well, try it with the primer. The primer helps smooth the foundation and helps you blend to get a clean layer without blotches. I love this foundation it really makes your skin look flawless. Next take your favorite powder and apply all over the face. This helps give you a airbrushed look. You will be amazed at how great your skin looks. I am using Maybelline Mineral Power Natural Perfecting Powder.

Next erase those dark circles. I am loving Bobbi Brown's Corrector. The pink tinted color is perfect and helps brighten my eyes. Look at the difference, my right eye is done and my left eye still has a dark circle. Look at the dramatic difference! It is amazing ;) Also apply along the sides of your nose, this helps reduce shadows and brighten up your face drawing attention to your eyes. Conceal any redness or any blemish you may have as well. Apply powder to set the concealer so it stays in place.

Next we need to attack those eyebrows. Take a brow brush and brush the hairs in place. Sometimes I wake up in the morning and my eyebrow hairs are all crazy and out of place. Brushing helps give you the look you want as well. Then take your eyebrow pencil and fill in and fill in any sparse areas, lighter in the front and darker towards the back. I usually make my eyebrows longer at the ends to make my face appear longer.
Finally time to do the eyes! :D I mixed three different colors for the lid color to give a vibrant color. I used two hot pinks and an orangeish color:

Apply the color all over your lid leaving the inner corner of your eye empty and not going past the crease. Blend well. If you get a little pink in the inner corner of your eye don't worry, that will help with blending the yellow and pink.

Next take two purple colors and apply right above the crease of your eye, blending into the pink. Start with the dark purple and then apply a lighter purple over it to lighten the color up a little. Make sure you blend the colors well. Don't apply all the way to your eyebrow leave a tiny space and add a white eyeshadow for some highlight. This also helps lighten the colors toward the eyebrow.

Then take a bright yellow color and apply it in the inner corners of your eyes, and also underneath just 1/3 of the way. Apply the pink color from the yellow to the outer corners of your eyes.

Eyeliner is next, using Stila's Smudge Pot in Black cat line the top of your eyes all the way to the inner corner to give you more of a dramatic look. Make the line as thin as possible, no wing at the corner, since your eyeshadow is dramatic enough.

Instead of blush we will just use bronzer. I am using Cargo's Waterproof Bronzer. Apply just below the apples of your cheeks and all the way back to your ear. This is where you should be the most bronzed. Also dust on your chin, nose, and forehead.

Then curl your lashes and apply your favorite mascara.
For lips I am using a matte lip color, Maple by Smashbox. You don't want your lips to be dramatic because you want your eyes to stand out.Finished! :)

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial :) Stay tuned for more!
